Public Open Day - 9 March 2014

Port Nelson will be holding a public open day on Sunday, 9 March, 2014. Members of the public are welcome to come along to the Port between 10am and 4pm.
“The Open Day is a great opportunity to see inside the secure Port areas which are normally inaccessible to the public,” says Port Nelson’s Customer Relations and Business Development Manager, Rob Hawkes. “The Port is a big part of our lives in the region but many people never have the opportunity for a ‘behind the scenes’ look at how it works.
“We are really looking forward to taking people on tours of the Port so that they can see parts of it in action. They will be able to see working displays of Port equipment such as tugs, cranes and container handlers.”
The public will also be able to enjoy presentations and displays from Port users.
“There will be food stalls, sausage sizzles and entertainment for children,” says Rob, “and parents can put their event on their calendar with confidence because it will go ahead wet or fine.”
