Port Nelson Ltd (PNL) is the maritime gateway for the Nelson Marlborough region – a vital hub for economic activity and a key stakeholder in the region’s continued growth and prosperity.  

Supporting the Chief Executive Officer and the Senior Management Team, the objective of your role is to facilitate a well organised and efficient environment, connecting and coordinating deliverables. Day to day you will manage the CEO’s diary, meetings and emails, and provide administrative support to him and to the Senior Management Team. You will organise Board Report material, arrange travel and deliver support for Board and Management meetings including preparation, minute taking and post meeting correspondence. As well as the usual EA tasks, you will have oversight of PNL’s risk and compliance framework and the administration of this including setting regular risk reviews and risk reporting. Procurement contracts for corporate administration vendors is also part of your remit. In addition, you will provide leadership and mentoring to your direct report, the Administration Assistant.

Key to success in this role will be your ability to partner with the CEO, anticipate needs and proactively manage workload in a calm and methodical way. Interpersonal skills will come naturally to you, with the capability to make connections across the business, Board members, stakeholders and the wider community, always conducting yourself with absolute discretion and confidentiality. You will be well experienced as an EA with a high level of initiative and be motivated and ready for any task that comes your way. While prior staff management experience would be valued, it is not essential if you can demonstrate leadership attributes.
